What Ultherapy Prime is, and how it differs from the other lifting devices
Ultherapy is a micro-focused ultrasound treatment from Merz Aesthetics. Energy is focused at set depths below the surface, including the layer of connective tissue that a surgical facelift addresses, and the heat produced there causes tissue to contract and remodel over the following weeks. In the United States the system holds FDA clearance for non-invasive lift of the eyebrow, the under-chin area and the neck, and for improving lines on the décolletage (Merz Aesthetics product information, accessed September 2026).
The part that separates it from other ultrasound devices is imaging. The operator sees the tissue layers on screen while treating, rather than working from anatomy assumed to be underneath. Ultherapy Prime is the current generation of that platform, and it is the one in our treatment rooms — worth checking elsewhere too, since a Korean price list that says only "Ultherapy" does not tell you which generation is in the room.

Ultrasound and radiofrequency are not rivals so much as different depths. Radiofrequency heats a broad volume of skin; focused ultrasound places heat at specific points in deeper layers. Which one is chosen depends on what your face is doing, and both the result and how long it lasts vary between individuals, with side effects possible in any case.
Who Ultherapy in Korea suits, and who should choose something else
The honest filter is how much skin has actually loosened, and how much time you have for a result that arrives slowly.
- Laxity that is early to moderate — a jawline that has softened, a heaviness under the chin, skin that no longer holds where it used to.
- A schedule that cannot take visible downtime — makeup and normal work are possible the same day, though the skin may feel warm or tender.
- Patience for 2 to 4 weeks — nothing about lifting shows on the day, and a patient who needs to look different by Friday is being sold the wrong thing.
- Someone who wants the deeper layers addressed, rather than surface texture, which belongs to lasers or injectables.
It suits some people badly. Heavy sagging with a real excess of skin is a surgical question, and we do not perform surgery — we will say so rather than sell shots that cannot reach the goal. Active inflamed acne or broken skin in the treatment area means we postpone. Tell us about recent laser work, fillers or threads in the area and when they were done, because that changes where energy can be placed. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, say so before you book so we can discuss timing.
Is Ultherapy worth the money, and how long does it last
This is the question asked most often, and it cannot be answered with a yes. What we can do is set out what the money buys and where it disappoints people.
It buys a single session that works on deeper support layers with imaging to guide it, without cutting and without a recovery period that keeps you indoors. It does not buy a fixed outcome. No lifting result is immediate — it appears gradually over 2 to 4 weeks, and how long it holds depends on age, skin condition and lifestyle. We do not quote a number of months, because that number would be invented. Every procedure carries a possibility of side effects, and both the result and how long it lasts vary between individuals.
Where people feel let down is usually one of three things: they expected the change on the day, they expected a treatment for deeper layers to fix surface texture, or they booked a small shot count for a large area. The first two are managed by explaining what the treatment does before payment. The third is managed by marking the face first.

A shot is one line of focused ultrasound delivered into the tissue. More shots means more coverage, so the count follows the area marked at the consultation rather than a package chosen in advance. Our Ultherapy Prime list starts at KRW 1,200,000 for 300 shots, excluding 10% VAT.

The 100-shot item is an add-on only. It exists so that a session already booked can be extended on the day when the marked area needs a little more than the count you selected — it is not sold as a treatment on its own.
The eye area is priced separately, because the work there is finer and the shot counts are smaller.

How the choice is made in the room: your skin is read with our skin scanner, the doctor examines where the tissue has descended and where it has not, and the areas are marked. The count follows those marks. If the marked area is smaller than you expected, we will tell you that rather than fill the session. Side effects remain possible with any shot count, and results vary between individuals.

How an Ultherapy Prime visit runs at our clinic
- Send a photo on WhatsApp. A makeup-free photo in natural light, the concern you want addressed, and your travel dates. We reply in English with what may suit and an estimate from the published list.
- Confirm a time. Weekdays 10:00 to 20:00 with last booking at 19:00; weekends 10:00 to 17:00 with last booking at 15:00. We are open on Sundays.
- Check in at the third-floor reception. The OPUS 407 building stands beside Gangnam Station Exit 10, next to the Samsung flagship store.
- Cleansing, consultation and treatment in one private room. The skin scanner reading, the one-to-one consultation with the doctor, the marking and the treatment itself all happen in the same suite, so you are not moved between rooms.
- Aftercare guidance at the fourth-floor reception. Instructions are explained before you leave, and follow-up questions go to the same WhatsApp thread once you are home.

Aftercare and downtime after Ultherapy Prime
Ultrasound lifting is one of the easier treatments to fit into a trip, but there are a few days where what you do matters. This is the guidance we publish for lifting of all types.

Two notes for travellers. Plan saunas and jjimjilbang for the start of your trip rather than the days after treatment. And if you are combining lifting with radiofrequency such as Thermage FLX, the guidance differs — after radiofrequency you let the warmth linger for 2 to 3 days and avoid cold packs and cold-water cleansing, which is the opposite of the cold compress used for ultrasound stripe marks.

Ultherapy Seoul pricing, VAT and booking from abroad
Ultherapy prices in Seoul vary by clinic, by generation of device and by shot count, and no clinic can quote for another. Ours are published item by item in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and international patients pay the same published price as Korean patients — the figure you read before your flight is the figure at the desk.
For patients who treat regularly we also list a prepaid membership, valid for one year from purchase and non-transferable, with treatment discounts calculated before VAT.
What to send when you ask for an estimate
- One makeup-free front photo and one at a slight angle, in natural light, so the doctor can see the jawline rather than guess at it
- The single change you most want — jawline, under the chin, the neck, or around the eyes
- Your dates, so that the treatment and the 2 to 4 weeks it takes to show fit the trip you have actually booked
- Any recent work in the area — laser, filler, threads — with rough dates
